What are Sesame agents?

Sesame agents are personal agents built for conversation and collaboration. They’re made for following your curiosity, exploring ideas, or talking through what’s on your mind.

We currently offer four personal agents in the Mobile Preview, each with a distinct voice, personality, and point of view:

  • Maya — warm and creative; your storyteller and thought partner
  • Miles — laid-back and sharp; the wingman who tells you what you need to hear
  • Simone — curious and intellectual; turns any deep-dive into an adventure
  • Charlie — witty and warm; the friend who nerds out with you

Who is Sesame?

We’re an interdisciplinary team of artists, makers, and engineers building ambient intelligence for everyday life. Sesame was founded in 2023 by Brendan Iribe, Ankit Kumar, and Ryan Brown. Our headquarters are in San Francisco, with offices in Washington and New York. We’re backed by leading entrepreneurs and investors, including a16z, Sequoia, Spark, and Matrix.

What can Sesame agents do?

In the Mobile Preview, agents can communicate with you over voice and text, search the web, perform deep dives, create notes and reminders, and send you a summary after each call. In the Research Preview (available on web at app.sesame.com), agents can talk with you (voice calls only) and search the web. English is the only officially supported language.

What can’t they do?

Our agents use large language models, which means they sometimes make things up. This sometimes includes details about our product, team, or roadmap. Our website is the only source of truth for information about Sesame.

In general, treat what they share as the start of a conversation, not the final word. They’re also not substitutes for medical professionals, therapists, financial advisors, or legal counsel.

We’re always working to expand what our agents can do, but for now, anything beyond calls, texting, search, deep research, and creating notes, reminders, and post-call summaries are beyond the scope of their capabilities.

What’s allowed?

Sesame agents are here to help you think, learn, reflect, and explore. They’re not designed for romantic roleplay, harmful content, or anything abusive — toward you or toward them. Full details live in our Terms of Use at sesame.com.

Where should I start?

Start by selecting an agent from the picker at the top of your screen. You can preview Maya, Miles, Simone, and Charlie to get a sense of each agent’s personality. When you’ve found the right fit for the moment, dive in by starting a call or sending a text. Try something open-ended — a question or idea you’ve been circling, a project you’ve been wanting to get off the ground, or a decision you’re working through.

When you’ve landed on something worth saving, ask your agent to save it as a note so you can come back to it later.

Calls are capped at 30 minutes when you're in the Mobile Preview or logged in on web (5 minutes if you’re not), and you can restart immediately.

How does memory work?

When you’re logged in, your agents remember your past conversations and use that context to make the next one better. Memory lives at the agent level: Maya remembers her conversations with you, Miles remembers his — they don’t share notes. Your memory carries between web and mobile as long as you’re signed in with the same account.

While in Incognito mode, your agents can access past memories, but won’t create new ones.

What happens to my conversations & data?

Your conversations are yours. We may review calls in rare cases — investigating a critical bug or reviewing a ban appeal — but we never sell your data and we don’t run ads. Want a fully private chat? Turn on Incognito mode and nothing is saved to our servers or stored to memory. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time in Settings.

Where can I share feedback or report a bug?

You can shake your phone to easily report problems from inside the Mobile Preview. You'll also see a short feedback form after completed calls or a thumbs up/down indicator under your agent’s sent messages — these are the fastest way to flag bugs or share feedback with our team. For everything else, contact us at support@sesame.com.

What’s coming next?

We’re always working on more natural conversations, more characters, more languages, and a richer set of agent capabilities. The Android version of our Mobile Preview is on the way. Sesame eyewear — our first hardware collection, designed to bring your agent into the world with you — is coming in 2027.
