Once your screen and report layouts have been established, you need to set
the field-level read/write privileges for each of your user roles and the
fields in your installation. This allows you to control who will be able
to see and who will be able to update each field or other function.
Click the Fields tab on the
ExtraView Administration screen, and then click the Grant Security Privileges
link.
You can select the user role, business area and project to set permissions for, or use the defaults to set global permissions. Select the security key categories in
turn - most likely the "adding records" and the "editing
records and querying" sections for now, and click the Set Permissions for Selected Keys button.
Use the Read/Write radio buttons
to alter each user role’s security profile and update the values. You will
find keys in each section for the user defined fields you added to ExtraView,
and it is here you define who gets to see and who gets to update these fields. |
