File attachments can be added to any issue. There is no limit to the number of attachments, and each one can be up to 4GB in size. Attachments are displayed along with an issue, both while updating issues and when they are selected for reports. If the attachment is an image, a thumbnail view is also shown.
A complete audit trail is stored with the attachment showing when it was uploaded, any changes made, and who viewed the attachment.
When viewing the attachment, the browser will open it in a new window, using the original application that created the attachment if at all possible. From Windows browsers, Excel spreadsheets will open directly, Word documents open directly, and audio files will play automatically. If the user's browser does not know how to handle a file, the user will be prompted to associate it with an application or save it to the local disk. |
