It is often essential to maintain a track of comments through the life of an issue. ExtraView will append each new comment to a log field. Typically, users may not alter the contents of previous entries to the log, but with permission a role can edit previous comments. Each entry is automatically time-stamped.
The administrator has control over how much text should be displayed within each log field, for example, the first 200 or 1000 characters. The full log field can be displayed with a single click of the mouse.
With the appropriate level of permission, an administrator may review, edit and delete existing comments. When they do this, the history audit trail is preserved. |
